Once Upon A Story....
Sincerely, Monday is about breathing deep and loving strong, even on the days when it’s hardest to. It’s shifting how we view our days and how we thank the people who walk in and out of them. It’s reflecting on the good, embracing the bad and giving life the best shot we can without complaints.
Like any other great story, Sincerely, Monday was written in a place of brokenness and has progressed into a movement of hope. Although not realizing it at the time, this story began in the midst of suffering through a devastating break of my own. The once perfect life I’d romanticized about for so long had come to a screeching halt. I felt lost without a map.
In the trenches of depression and heartache, I was pulled back up to my feet one fateful, yet previously dreaded Monday. After a conversation with a friend who I viewed as having it all together, I learned, she too was having a tough time. I remained quiet, but decided to make it my mission to brighten her day. Sending my first Sincerely, Monday note and bouquet of flowers anonymously to her office, from a distance, I saw her day transformed. It was then I realized that even at my lowest point, I mattered to someone. I had purpose, I made a difference, even if it was unseen.
I slowly began realizing how every person in my life, good or bad, had served a purpose like this to me. Those purposes, and the vehicles through which they came, were all praiseworthy—just like my Mondays. From that moment I would enter a journey of healing, one where Mondays would begin to matter and those in my life would know how much they mattered.
The blog was created to connect the world through the shared brokenness we all face in one way or another. It’s a place for beautiful stories of people to be shared, a place to connect where you maybe once felt isolated, or a place to grow where you maybe once felt stuck.
Every story and song shared here is a testament that no matter how small, or how unseen it may be, every act of kindness or word of hope has the power to turn a day, season or life around. Even yours.
Let’s begin to better connect with those who’ve touched our world, without wanting anything in return. Let’s make Mondays Matter.
